Riyandi's post.

As someone who is usually visually inclined and full of creativity.
I tried my best to contribute as much as I could to this campaign and to our group.
Doing designs for our client really helped me to sharpen my skills and I've learnt to overcome my flaws as an individual contributing to a team.

In the process we all learnt to work together.
As a team we did well in helping each other out instead of just looking down on each other's flaws and mistake.

Being in charge of graphics and video & audio requires me to be open to ideas. I took in what the team suggested instead of ignoring them. They do have creative minds too and it helps me with my tasks.

As a freelance graphics designer myself with working experience, it takes a lot of trial and error and you need not just a few ideas in mind but more at heart like understanding and feeling what the client needs which is the most important of all.

Even if one of us is not there or doesn't do well in any responsibilities given, I believe that WE as a TEAM have to still do our best.

Like the saying goes, a building may be big and have pillars to support it and looks strong, but what do you call something small with many legs or pillars supporting it? A caterpillar.*(lol) Yes we are a caterpillar. Small but even if one leg goes down, we will still move.

Ryan.

Luqman's contribution

As a leader, it was my job to make sure my wonderful group mates did their tasks on time and with quality. It is also my job to set an example by doing my work on time so that they will also do the same. .I remind them to do things that they tend to forget and assign them each a role so that they will feel belonged and important to the group and believe that good confidence is very important for this project as we have to speak to our clients bravely and smartly. Moreover, I was the chief editor of all the proposals and reports we had to send to our client and teachers However, we are human and we do make mistakes so it’s my job to make those mistakes into learning points so that we do not repeat them in the future.
To my group mates, it has been a great journey and I have really enjoyed the fun times we had together as a group while we did our work and also learn from the bad experiences we had a group. All my group mates contributed a lot and there is no complaining about that. During tuff times, they also gave me support when I had forgotten to do something or I did not organise the things properly. This was a truly wonderful learning experience for me and I would not have changed anything about this journey if there was a chance as it was just simply shiok.

Chee Jian's contribution

As a team member, i helped out as a photographer and videographer, also sometime to contact our client to obtain the correct information and obtain permission. At the end of the project, i also helped out to prepare our individual slides for the presentation. I am also incharge of posting contest on simply shiok's facebook.

photograph's date - too many dates, but i did prepare my own camera to take the photos.
Video's date 6 January 2012, used my phone to take the video and later on pass to my teammate Riyandi to edit.
The problems is that im having difficulties finding time to post the contest on facebook, i could have done it better if I prepare what i going to post beforehand.

Visiting Simply Shiok

Had a 2 hour break today so we decided to visit Simply Shiok Ice Cream Cafe at One North Residence. The weather was hot and we couldn't wait to get our hands on the ice creams!
Trained down from Dover MRT to One North MRT. Exit via Exit B and we walked a few mins to One North Residences. The place was quite deserted but looks nice.
The shop was quite small but the decor is Artsy and cool!
So we chat with the owner about our project for the campaign and ordered a few ice creams.
We were blown away by the taste.
The Ice creams were AWESOME!

RECOMMENDED
-Dark Chocolate Cointreal(AWESOME)
-Bailey mint chocolate
-King oF Fruits(AWESOME)
-Super Lemon(BEST)
-Ultimate Dark Chocolate

Contacting the companies

Sent email to Simply Shiok, Ice Cube and Island Creamery on 27 Oct 2011 11am . With the following template:

Interest in promoting a campaign

Dear (shop name) Ice Cream Cafe,
We are Creamy Orange, a group of students from Singapore Polytechnic, School of Digital Media and Information Technology.
We have been given an assignment which requires us to promote and market a company through social media.

We are very interested in your products and would like to form a partnership with your company to boost the awareness of your products / company, and possibly increased sales through the use of social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
As part of the marketing strategies, we plan to do the following for your company:

1) Set up a Facebook Page and put up interesting content on it on a regular basis
2) Set up a Twitter account to disseminate snippets of information about your products and as a feedback channel for your customers
3) Set up a Youtube channel and create videos to market selected products of your company.

Besides utilizing social media, we will also help to market your company through traditional means of such as designing attractive posters/flyers that will be distributed around Singapore Polytechnic and its vicinity.
We will work together to think of more ideas if your company is willing to work with us on this. If needed, we can submit a simple project proposal to share our ideas with you so that you have a better idea of how we can contribute to your company.

Please feel free to call me (member in charge) at my handphone or Michael at 81137754 or email us at DCJ.11@ichat.sp.edu.sg if you have any questions.
You may also contact my lecturer, Ms Dora Chua (dora@sp.edu.sg) (hp:97492609) if you would like to clarify the nature of this proposed collaboration.
Thank you for your kind attention, we hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks and best regards
(member in charge)
